A work in progress that I’ve been calling an oratorio, but may shift as we move along. An a cappella work for an 8 voice chamber choir that meditates on faith as an experience that is distinct from religion, mind altering substances, and the intersection of all three.

The second movement in Heaven’s Engine, a series of solo works that are interconnected in their use of rhythmic development.

At the beginning of 2021 director Joe Badon (“The God Inside My Ear” and “Sister Tempest”) asked me to contribute music to his new short film, “The Blood Of The Dinosaurs,” a prologue to his upcoming feature length, “The Wheel Of Heaven.” It should be out soon!

Oil Spill was written for Charlotte New Music's speedwriting intesnsive in 2021. The assigned theme was that it should be something relating to nature, and I immediately jumped to thinking about the destruction of the environment.

SpacePants and I are kindred spirits. I don't even want to try and describe them so you should just go to their websiteand learn all about the Radaliens and the The Tube. This work expands on the lore of SpacePants and merges it with the extended lore of my project Cheap City into one frantic event that sort of references Peter and the Wolf. Also there's puppets!

An orchestral piece I wrote in that period in between undergrad and grad schools when I was figuring out how to be a composer and just writing things to see how they worked. It's never been performed. Here's the score

A collaboration with the actor Martin Hutchinson, inspired by our shared interest in storytelling, faith, and devotional music. If The Lord is loosely based on teh life of John Newton, the English slave trader turned abolitionist who also wrote Amazing Grace.

This five movement string quartet was inspired by a series of events during the Dérive Winter 2014 Tour. First, waiting in a South Carolina airport on New Year's Eve after an extremely humiliating breakup. Then, driving a van and trailer through the worst of the polar vortex on our way to Richmond from Massachusetts. Later, a caffeine fueled 17 hour straight drive from Tampa to Shreveport. The fourth movement details trying to quietly exit the apartment of osmeone who offered us a place to stay in Cleveland who turned out to be extremely dangerous. The quartet's final movement resolves in the middle of a lavender farm in Virginia.
